Dan Hilton is a video editor, broadcaster, and podcast host in the greater New York City area. He currently works for Major League Soccer as a Producer/Video Editor, having previously served in the same role at MLB Advanced Media and Disney Streaming Services (NHL). He is also a producer for News 12 Long Island, play-by-play announcer for Adelphi University and Molloy College athletics, as well as the broadcaster and podcast host for the AUDL‘s New York Empire.
Previously, Dan worked with ESPN Radio Williamsport as the play-by-play voice for Misericordia University athletics, including football, men’s and women’s basketball. He also contributed “SportsCenter” updates for the 2013 Little League World Series and served as the play-by-play voice for the MLU.
In Dan’s “downtime” he produces, writes, hosts and schedules guests for the ‘The Barcelona Podcast‘. The Barcelona Podcast is also affiliated with BarcaBlog.com, where Dan is the Editor-in-chief and holds a community of 710,000 followers and counting.
Dan is the former Technical Assistant Sports Director at WRHU-FM, New York. He served as a radio reporter for New York Islanders radio broadcasts, and a play-by-play and color commentary voice for Hofstra Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Baseball, and Softball on WRHU-FM.
Dan could also formerly be heard on the air on WRHU weekly on “The Locker Room” from 8 to 9 PM every Sunday, “Hofstra’s Morning Wake-Up Call” from 7 to 9 AM every Friday, and “Newsline” from 5:30 to 6 PM every Monday, as well on a weekly magazine show, “The Islanders Edge” on Friday nights.
Dan has television experience from his time as a host and panelist on Sports Beat on Hofstra’s television network HEAT, along with interning with News 12 Long Island in their sports department. He also wrote for the Hofstra Chronicle and Long Island Report, developing both copy & multimedia contributions.
Other than keeping up with most sports, Dan’s hobbies include listening to various podcasts, playing ultimate frisbee, learning Spanish and German, and visiting historical sites.
